True Confessions

Dear friends,

How are you? I have a confession to make..... are you sitting down?

I've fallen in love.... seriously in LOVE with......
Adobe Lightroom...... I resisted for the longest time.... thinking I could never stray from my oh-so-loved Photoshop.... my life changer..... gift giver....  world rocking companion..... But, slowly, gently I found my way to Lightroom...... And over time...I fell in LOVE....

The best part.... my big discovery....and what I'm dying to share with all of you..... I don't have to choose...... they are perfect partners.... companions.... I/we can love and need them both. My creative world is even dreamier now..... seriously ... dreamier..... and oh my.... much easier too!

I've created a new class.... I call it Round Trip .... from lightroom to photoshop and back again....

I'm going to share my process...how I 'dance'.... with the two programs.... how I like to use them... in my as always easy to follow and creative way.

I don't often say... you have to have this...or you have to have that.... but sweet Photoshop friends.... You have to have Lightroom......  (okay, so that's a bit dramatic....but oh my.....so much to love...so many possiblities)....

I will be offering an introductory.... beyond awesome.... Round 1 price..... so if you are ready to do the dance......... make the leap..... dive in..... this will be the time.

Lightroom 4 is available for a 30 day trial.... FREE from Adobe....so no big financial commitment is necessary up front.

I recommend a basic understanding of photoshop or Elements and layers.... for this class. If you are new to photoshop consider checking out my free Skinny-Mini eCourse. Registration is open HERE.

Hooray! I have LR3 and CS5 (thanks to my dear Kim) but must admit I have seriously slacked off on my organization and use of LR3. I have stuff on various cards not even downloaded, textures scattered all over my desktop (again ... after cleaning them up when you did the 'if not now than when' screen saver) plus things in instagram, Flickr, aaarghh! And I have perfect layers for Lightroom from OnOne, so technically shouldn't even need to round trip ... But I feel like I'm supposed to give a wave to PS since its there. I know you will clear my head on this Kim. Bravo for another timely class! Can we do type in LR?

yes and no.... you can add type in lightroom..... but ps has way more flexibility....and extra fab features...

is there some kind of hidden trick to getting ahold of your textures you send emails about? there is no longer a download link and you promise to send it later, but it never comes...

i do send out the emails... as promised.....
perhaps your email provider is blocking the messages. or maybe sending them to spam. either can happen with list messages......and there is nothing I can do about it...once i hit the send....

you could try registering a different email...... once you do that and confirm your address you should receive a whole bunch of past ones...and the newest ones as they come!

Omg I feel the same way!! I am in love with Lightroom do much -funny bc I just wrote a postFor Friday on Lightroom and presets saying how I still love my photoshop too!! But Lightroom rocks!

Oh my another guilty pleasure . . .I can hardly wait! Does it work alright with CS4 Kim? I would love to purchase Light room but wonder . . . would I need to mortgage my first born? Is one version or edition better than another?

If your telling me I could possibly love Photoshop more with the addition of Light room, I simply MUST get it! Looking forward to the details!

I've also fallen in love with LR4. It's so, so fab. And did you see today that RadLab announced v1.3 so you can launch it directly from LR as an "edit in"? How completely fab is that? Surely you're completely in Heaven now!

OMG, Super True. I've been ... how'd you put it .. making the "Round Trip" since LR3 came out. I wouldn't do it any other way. The two go together just like "peas and carrots" =)
