{Thoughtful Thursday} Wise Words - Share Yours

Hello Lovely friends.... How are you? How is your week? Mine is zip, zip... zipping by..... 'sigh'

I had a fun little shoot with Bryce.... and wanted to share a few pics with you all.....and a little inspiration....

I stamped each photo with a little brush love.... Two powerful quotes.... Don't you think?

Quick Recipe: Converted the image to black and white in RadLab. I then Textured with Shine at Soft Light 57%. I reopened it in RadLab and added a light dose of Antique Tone. That's it...that's all...

One more....

Today, I invite you to share a favorite quote or 2 or 3 or 4.... I'd love to hear from you!

xo,

p.s.

The Art of Textures starts in just a few weeks.... Here's a little inspiration from the archives... if nothing else...pause for a few moments and soak up the lovely music.... so good!

Well, these are fun comments. My favorite quote, especially as it relates to Kim's textures and what they do for us. Thomas Jefferson: “He who receives ideas from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine receives light without darkening me”

Favorite quote: "Oh, the sheer joy when the eyes of your soul are opened to something beautiful and profound you never saw before. It always takes you by surprise and is indelibly seared into your memory. More than any limited ability I may possess, I am grateful that God has given me an artist's heart, and that He allows me to see the indescribable beauty of His creation from His perspective." I have 4 daughters, and my toast has always been (more or less): "Acts of kindness show love-not the words spoken." The 5 grandchildren now mimic my family toasts, and I hope it may help at some point in their lives.

Thank you so much for your generous acts of kindness, and it shows the love you graciously share with all of us.

God Bless!

LOL - Just remembered another jewel I keep on my desk:

There are times when it is hard to believe in the future, when we are temporarily just not brave enough. When this happens, concentrate on the present. Cultivate le petit bonheur (the little happiness) until courage returns. Look forward to the beauty of the next moment, the next hour, the promise of a good meal, sleep, a book, a movie, the likelihood that tonight the stars will shine and tomorrow the sun will shine. Sink roots into the present until the strength grows to think about tomorrow.

Thank you so much for your generosity in sharing your creativity-I have learned so much and it makes me want more. Using textures has opened up a whole new world-

My quotes:

How wonderful yellow is. It stands for the sun. --Vincent Van Gogh

Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.--Scott Adams

Yellow to me is such an abundant color-and Adams' quote reminds me that it is really okay and even necessary to make mistakes-that is how I learn.

Thank you Kim-

I could relate to your life journey. I had to pick myself up off the floor when I really didn't feel like it. I enjoy inspirational sayings and have these on my blog:

So often I walk, many times I crawl...but on this journey, my desire is to dance!

Enjoy the little things, for one day you will realize they were the big things.

Dance as though no one is watching, Love as though you have never loved before, Sing as though no one can hear you, Live as though Heaven is on Earth.

Never look down on anyone unless you're helping them up.

Life is not measured by the Number of Breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away.

Yesterday is history, Tomorrow is a mystery, Today is the present. That's why they call it a gift.

Kim,

Thank you for your textures, your courses (I've taken two of them and loved them both!) and for sharing your story, which touched, encouraged and inspired me.

My favourite quote, out of many in Khalil Gibran's "The Prophet" is

Love one another, but make not a bond of love:
Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.

Blessings
