{Texture Tuesday} The Yesteryear eDition

Hello sweet friends.... I'm back!  

OH my gosh... with the holiday Monday... I almost forgot to put together our TT Party Post!

I did take that trip to the greenhouse this weekend....and it was completely FABULOUS...

I have lots of lovely photos to share... but for today...just this one... textured with last week's 'yesteryear' texture!  

I'm really looking forward to seeing what you all do with it!

So, just a reminder....for today's Texture Tuesday - your image must contain at least one layer of the 'yesteryear' texture.  If you missed downloading it...  Click HERE to grab it.

I thought you may like the recipe for this image.... it's pretty easy peasy.... I must say. Here goes....

Layer 1 - background image

Layer 2 - 'yesteryear' texture at soft light blend mode 100% opacity.

Layer 3 - Hue/Saturation adjustment (yellow channel selected set saturation to -41) to tone down the greens in the background....selected the layer mask and brushed over the posies with a black soft round brush at 60% opacity to remove the adjustment and allow the fleurs to POP....

Layer 4 - Levels adjustment layer - bumped up the blacks a bit to create it a little contrast

Layer 5 - Used a white soft round brush at 65% opacity and brushed to soften the darker corner and edges of the image....lowered the opacity of the layer to about 40%.  Applied a gaussian blur filter to the layer to soften the brush strokes.

Hi Kim, once again you have a spectacular photo and editing... I guess we can expect no different from you!! Kim, this is an inspiring image. I really thank you for listing the steps and explaining why you did certain things. For instance, you said you selected the yellow channel (hue/saturation) to tone down the greens in the background. And using a white brush to tone down the dark corners. This is really helpful.
