{Texture Tuesday} Another Fab 'Free & Easy eDition'

We are back!

It's time for another Texture Tuesday Link-Up party!

And this week, pretty much anything goes!  

Share your fav photo....textured with at least one layer of any of my textures!

That's it! That's all!

I just had to whip up another lilac photo! My, oh my...I love the lilacs....and they are so gosh, darn versatile too!

Today's processing is a little complicated...I'm afraid I don't have the full recipe for you. But if you are a TK member...watch for a video in the next few days! I need to 'sort out' the recipe.  It's quite lengthy.  

What I can tell you.... as I sit here completely brain dead (exaggeration but only a slight one)....I used 2 textures from the Studio Collection!

Here's a little peek at the textures.

Basically I desaturated the image using several black and white gradient map adjustment layers at different blend modes. I then brought back some of the color in the lilacs using layer masking. Then added a layer of softly at multiply and a layer of cloudy day at soft light.... both at 100% opacity!!!

As I mentioned on Sunday....I hoped to have a nice little texture collection ready to offer up today!

But a phone call in the middle of the night from Mr. Bryce.... (I'm locked out...yadda, yadda... long story... basically not that complicated...just his brother was asleep, cell phone on silent and his apartment keys were on the counter).... anyhow, he had to drive home in a storm...Ugh...so like any mom would do, I sat up anxiously awaiting his arrival...Thankfully, he made it home safely... and quickly went to sleep....leaving his mother wide awake...with her neverending thoughts!! (at least I had some note-worthy thoughts)....

And there's more... Fast Forward about 3 hours....finally asleep.... Phone rings.... It's 6:15 am... 

Brett, 'I can't find my keys!'. He had to be at work here in town at 7....  'sigh'....  Jump up, get dressed... about to head out the door to pick him up... (30 minute drive)...  Anyhow, just before I hopped in the escape...he called! 'Mom, have you left yet? I found the keys'....

phew....

I said to my hubby...very grumpily...  Empty Nest my Butt (i may have used another word for butt... I won't go there, though....)

So today I was just too darn tired. I didn't have the energy to put the finishing touches on my new creations.  

The new textures will be coming soon!

Next week, our photos must contain a person or people and at least one layer of any of my textures.

Aaaack.... is anyone else besides me a little freaked out by that? :)

As you know I don't do a lot of textured people pics! Actually I don't do a lot of people pics, period! I want to change that! 

I love people pics...and I love a good textured people photo... So this could be extremely inspiring!  

I'm excited!

I can so relate to "...my butt" comment ;-) It gets better but NEVER ends :) Next week's challenge sounds like a true challenge for me... I don't take many pictures of people either and never, ever use textures on them... better start practicing :)

Beautiful lilacs! Kim I am so excited about next weeks challenge! I took a bunch of prom photos and used several of your textures successfully on the photos. I had the best success with silence. I just looked back at the images and I didn't save my recipe! Darn... anyway the texture did amazing things for skin tone. Can't wait to share next week.

We never stop being mothers....whatever the age. My two are just so far away--and really, they are a little old for 'mothering'-- that I'm limited in what I can do! Your lilacs are beautiful; I still haven't accomplished the whitewashed effect very well. As for adding textures to images of people..... hmmmmmmmm!!!

Kim, I loved the family story...I can relate but not an empty nest, just two graduated and teenagers. Calls in the night...almost out of gas, where is there a station?? ....check the weather for me, it's scary driving!!!...and so on. My husband says we have the house that never sleeps. Apparently, we aren't alone.

My first TT submission, and I'm a little scattered. I thought I had posted a comment already, but guess not! Thanks SO much for your tutorials & textures & this wonderful TT you host here :) I have thoroughly enjoyed it, and you proved to be my breakthrough on getting started in the textures. I used another tutorial elsewhere a few years ago, and ended up so. confused. I look forward to checking out more of your tips & textures in the future. And let me say that my dear son is 29 and yep, empty nest doesn't really mean all that much ;) They still need us! :) Thank you again! I love your work!
