Texture Tuesday - and a little Recipe Sharing

How are you? 

I'm super pumped about the new Texture Tuesday feature, here at the Café.  I can't wait to see what you all have been up to.

I thought it'd be cool to share a little recipe with you all.

Here's a screen shot of the layers panel from today's photo.

 

Here's the steps I took to process the image. I used this week's freebie - warmsun.  

• Layer 1 - Image
• Layer 2 - desaturated the image to soften the tones.
• Layer 3 - Added warm sun texture at soft light blend mode 100%.  Added a layer mask and removed some of the texture form the vase.
• Layer 4 - Curves Adjustment Layer to increase the contrast and darken the image.
• Layer 5 - Used a soft round black brush at about 55% opacity and brushed over the vase where it was a little to 'bright'.  Changed the blend mode to soft light and added a gaussian blur filter to blend the brush strokes.
• Layer 6 - Added my watermark.

And that's that. :)

Next week, let's add a little challenge....and share an image using this past Friday's texture 'warmsun'.  That give you have a week to come up with an image to link to next week. I think it'll be pretty cool to see all the different variations....  :)

I love what you all are doing! I am struggling to teach myself how to use PhotoShop (CS3) more effectively and am finding a lot of inspiration from you all. I think it is a matter of using the program enough - practice, practice and more practice.
