let's get messy.....

are you feeling uninspired? 

winter tends to rob us a little of our creative juices... especially if you live in a colder climate... wow...  a person can really tend to just curl up and be still. 

i was having a difficult time getting motivated artistically.....  i just didn't feel passionate enough to wanna get my hands dirty...make a mess... dive in!! 

but i found my cure!!  i encourage you to give it a try.... let me know how it goes....

get a canvas, a piece of carboard, water color paper, wood....  oh a journal is awesome....  anything goes.

get some gel medium, glue, decopauge.....pull out your old magazines, get out the scissors the paint, some ink, a sharpie, some stamps, glitter, buttons, thread.....  whatever you have....  no need to go shopping..... 

and just start getting messy!!! 

cover the surface with scraps of paper, newpaper, magazine clippings... then add some paint, some ink, some more paper, some more ink.....  scribble here and there, write you deepest thought, your wildest dreams...  then cover that up if you like, or not.....

keep going.... adding, building....  layering....

i promise .. you will feel freedom....you will feel gratification...  you will feel alive!!

it's been a fabulous day of paint, papers, ink, mediums... and all kinds of inspiring stuff...    so i just wanted to pop in and say... i am still here...  and i heart art... :)

simple things that make me happy

~ the sound of andy snoring when the house is quiet. 

~ the sweet innocence of children

~ The smell of fresh bread in the morning

~ Watching a good movie in bed

~ new art supplies

~ icy cold diet coke, sunshine, a walk on the trail, quiet time alone...... i could go on and on........
