Photoshop Cookbook Details Revealed, but First a Prairie Adventure

Happy Monday… hope you had a fabulous weekend. Mine was a mixture of great and not so great. The great included a visit to PG’s beautiful country home….and an awesome adventure to an abandoned neighbouring farm site. OH my the yard site is amazing. The not-so-great was my continued sinus issues. Ugh. But, moving on to the good stuff…… Before I ‘spill it’ on the cookbook, I just have to share a little piece of our adventure.
Although nobody lives on the site we visited, someone rents the land for their cattle. And the cattle roam the yard site. So as we were climbing the fence to enter this site… pg says to me, are you scared of cows? I was like, ‘ummmm, no, not really.’ We could see the curious cows ahead and PG started telling them to GO… in her bigger but still so sweet voice. They took their time, but headed off. So we kept walking along the beautiful treed in lane… We saw the little abandoned house and decided we would check it out first…Thankfully we weren’t too far from the front porch step…because rather suddenly a stampede of cattle were running toward us. Oh my gosh, it was momentarily frightening. Anyhow, we ran to the house, hopped up on the front porch, and at the same time they just kept on running right on by. I snapped this pic of them as they kept on going…That was the last we saw of the cows. Thankfully!! :) Phew…..
I have a ton of pics to share! There were beautiful, story-telling trees and treasures EVERYWHERE. But for today I just had to show you the beautiful barn above. I mean is it not extraordinary? ‘sigh’. Thank you PG! That was definitely the highlight of my weekend!!

Okay so the COOKBOOK. Can you say BURST? I can’t wait to share this offering.
I really was hoping it would be ready to go by now. But it turns out it is taking a little longer than I anticipated. Part of the problem has been life getting in the way….and the other part is trying to narrow down all the recipes I want to share. But I’m close… oh so close……
In the meantime, I thought I’d tell you what it’s all about.
The cookbook will come to you as a digital pdf. It will include the before and after image, the instructions to create the after image and a screen shot of the layer’s palette.
Besides the electronic Cookbook, I will be offering a few optional extras.
Printable recipe cards - for quick reference. This will save you having to print out the whole book. You can simply go thru the recipe cards. I think they will be a fabulous learning tool.
Digital Image Package - a zip folder of low res images and textures so you can recreate each of the projects included in the cookbook.
Screencast Lessons- I will be offering a selection of screencast tutorials from the cookbook as well. A new screencast or 2 will be available in a private classroom each week. I haven’t quite decided on the # of lessons yet. But I will share the details when the cookbook is ready for release.
Soooo, as you can see, it’s a complete digital package.
I am going to prelaunch the cookbook to my ‘texture lovin’ list members’ for 2 days at value pricing. So if you are interested in the cookbook, but not on the mailing list… you may want to sign up. You can do that HERE.
I will be offering an affiliate program as well. I feel so blessed that so many share my site and texture links etc on their blogs and flickr pages. I want to offer some reward for this. i can't remeber who's blog exactly i came from to get to yours but happy that i found you. i love all these textures that you have create they are wonderful, looking forward to your cookbook coming out.
I look forward to this. It sounds to me that it will be a fun learning tool for me. The barn pics today are beautiful. I would love to take a walk there.

i just get giggling 'out of control' thinking of how 'cool' we were
pretending not to be too alarmed at the stampede ...
but i could almost see the look of sheer panic on your face 'behind me'
when i said ... 'um, kim ... i think we ought to run to the house to the porch ... now!'
they probably thought we had something to eat for them,
but i wasn't willing to gamble that was the case ... ; )

What an exciting week-end, indeed. Love the story and your pictures. Looking forward to your Cookbook. I'm truly enjoying The Art of Texture and of course I feel much better about learning Photoshop now that I have The Skinny behind me. It's all so much easier now and I'm loving the learning process too. My fears are just about gone. These classes truly help!

Kim - I can't wait for the cookbook. One more thing for me to ask tons of questions about. I hope you are feeling better soon. Cows are such sweet, gentle animals, but they are heavy and i sure wouldn't want to be in the way when they are running. We have about 30 and if some get loose i stand with a pitchfork, ready to give a poke if they come too close. I enjoyed your tale.
Can't WAIT for the cookbook! I'm finally going to have some time off in the last quarter of the year and I plan to spend some of it polishing my skills - your timing for the cookbook is perfect.
That a few old pictures reminds me of childhood memories.
