easter sunday on the trail

we celebrated easter yesterday.

so today was spent at home, enjoying the peacefulness of it all.
i went down to the trail with andy.  it was warm but windy.  but oh so nice.
the sun was shining perfectly....
"sigh"

the ice has almost melted off the pond.

i love the light in the treed area of the trail.  so beautiful.

so happy to find this little stack of rocks...
like they were waiting to be photographed.

check out the bits of green grass... yay... so nice!

and the reflection off the pond was perfect!

really so happy i discovered nature.
i mean really discovered it.
sooo amazing... such a gift.
i don't remember appreciating it in my younger years.

while i was on the trail i met up with 2 sweet young boys and their mom.
they were so excited about the trail.
jabbering on about the tadpoles and trying to catch a butterfly.

they walk the trail every day.

i had some regrets...you know...if only i could go back in time.

i used to take the boys down to the trail on their bikes....
but they didn't develop an appreciation for it like the 2 boys i met today.
they were there to find the hills and zoom down them.

i suppose we are all so different. hmmmm.

i regret being so busy that we didn't take the time to wonder around.
if i could do it all over again....my oh my...

sigh...

here's to nature and walks and sunshine and the little things.

it really doesn't get any better.

xxo, happiest day....♥kim

p.s.
i used the textures from my new collection to process these trail images.
i will post a before and after image tomorrow...perhaps name it makeover monday.
a new tradition....
so pop in and check it out.

p.s.s.
it's not too late to register for my new eCourse
photoshop "the skinny"
i'm so excited about the response.  thanks so much for the all the fabulous support!

I know how you feel...even though we did so much with our children, I have a greater appreciation for "the everything" now and I wish they were still little so i could share it with them.....

your photos are glorious -- isn't this pre-spring time of year a wonder? i enjoy nature so much, and took my kids tromping through the woods at every opportunity. right now (teens) they're not so keen, but i entice them from time to time.

mmmm ... and wow ...
so excited for you in your discoveries ...
each image is exquisite, but for me, the moss
is stunning ... amazing growth it is ...

never worry ... just like you, your boys will
make their discoveries in their own time ...

you are, always have been and always will be
a wonderful mom to those two incredible 'men'
~ your sons ... always look ahead to what
there still is to share with them ... *hug* ... *smile* ...

so happy you had such a glorious day ... yay!

I think we all go through that, but it is hard to realize these thing, sometimes, until we are past them...but it is never too late, and I'm pretty sure that's what grandchildren are for! A stunning set of photos...
