still life photography assignment

okay, why do i leave things til the last minute?  sigh....
i always have the best intentions.....
my plan was to spend yesterday afternoon playing with stills.  but the sunshine was gone.  poof.....
like that it was dark, cloudy and quite uninspiring.

then came today.  we are celebrating easter with my family....and we had to make a trip into town.
so i was left with little time in between.
but i tried.  :)

so i picked up some lovely tulips from the grocery store today.
and i've been wanting to shoot this amazing typewriter....
and so i began.

i had little time to process and camilla said... no textures... sigh. :)
and as i'm posting these i'm thinking they are possibly a little crooked...maybe after dinner i will fix them up. :)

i started with the typewriter and tulips.

i wanted to utilize the knarly grapevine on the front porch wall, as well.

i shot from different angles.
i love the old gears you can see in this image.

then i switched to just tulips.

lately i am loving macro shots.

shot from a few angles. catching the different light.

another blurred macro.

so my friends...
that ends my story.

thanks so much for this camilla and carolyn.
i just love this whole idea...
sooo awesome...

can't wait to get home, so i can pop around and visit
all of my classmates....
too much fun!

happy easter.... happy spring....
xxo, kim

Scrumptious. Your photos always have such a soft, delicate quality to them. The tulip colors are beautiful and that typewriter is great. It all goes so well together, you did a wonderful job.

Wonderful subject Kim. I'd love to see some images where you tilt the camera. That typewriter wants you to take more pictures, and get in closer too– there's amazing detail there. Love the tulips!

Sigh. LOVE this post, Kim. And the next one. I could look at typewriters all day. I wonder if people will wax nostalgic at the sight of old macbooks 100 years from now? lol.
