abandoned

i've fallen in love the lonely beauty in the surrounding prairies... atleast once a week my husband, andy and i head out exploring....  it amazes me how many houses, buildings and barns have been left to just fade away. and how many amazing trees there are....if you just look around....

as we are out exploring....i imagine the stories of each abandoned discovery, and long to know more.  we ask around about the history... who lived there once... did they have a large family?  it's fascinating... and it brings new meaning to the quote "if these walls could talk".....

i'm so thankful that my husband is ready and willing to share in this new passion... he's so great at the details, like reading the map, marking the map for places we must return to in the summer, asking people at work for some history of the places we have found...  tramping through the snow to get to the buildlings we just have to see a little closer.

i'm also so grateful that andy has been a part of this new adventure.  he gets the passenger seat and i take the back.  it's pretty adorable...  and before i sign off i leave you with this image of andy, our navigator....  he will hold my ♥ forever.....

happy thursday....  until next time...xxo, kim

What a wonderful blog, Kim. Don't know why I never stopped by before. I envy you your beautiful prairies...not the cold weather...just the views. :o)
