one little word
have you read about this movement? it seems everywhere i go, someone seems to be talking about it! i love this article, “creating a happy new year,” by shutter sister’s tracey clark. check it out! :)
ali edwards has been doing this since 2007. i think it’s a fabulous idea! alli’s 2010 post is wonderful. check out the comments section at the end of the article! so many amazing words have been chosen.
the whole one word theme, in general, is something i absolutely go crazy for. i’m guessing it’s because i am ga, ga over words in general….which lead me to painting signs so many years ago!
using just one word, gives a person/people direction! for example, shutter sister’s has their one word project. each month they pick a new word, and invite us to submit photos based on the chosen word. this month, the word is CREATE! …. i know… it’s perfect… right? :) over on the 2BBB we picked the word calm last week. it was so fitting, after the holiday madness.
and this week our theme word is time. now that’s a topic of everyday discussion…and it usually goes something like “where does the time go?” or “time flies”…. anyhow, we are having some fun with the word time. come check it out!
one little word can have so much meaning! i’ve been giving it a lot of thought… trying to pick my word for 2010. it’s a big deal to me… because, i truly believe this is going to be a BIG year!
i have a lot of “good stuff” going on. i’m excited about so many different aspects of my life. i have so much i want to accomplish, learn, conquer, share…. and i want to be sure that i pick the right word for me! i had a few words in mind…but i kept coming back to the word soar. the first time “soar” spoke to me… like, really spoke to me, was when Mera announced her Soar Contest. i was completely moved by the word, and the impact it could have! :)
So, yes, yes… YES! my word is SOAR.
whatchya think? are you going to pick a word? have you picked a word? i’d love to hear about it?
xxo, kim

Great word, Kim! You have given me something to think about this weekend.
Love the word 'Soar' and have been using it this year already. It's a word that just makes you feel good because it brings up visions of flying and being light as a feather. Good word choice!!
