back to school kindness project – DAY 2
hello my friends
thought i would share a quick post on day 2 of my “bts kindness project”.
this really is so much fun! i encourage you to come up with something and give it a try.
i am madly in love with supplies. supplies are somewhat of an addiction for me.
i buy them and stash them away. sharing them isn’t natural for me.
i like to hold on tight to all of those beautiful, perfect pens, pencils, paper.
in fact until recently i had trouble even opening the packaging.
i know, i know…that’s pretty strange, and maybe a little sad.
it reminds me of saving the good dishes for company or special occasions.
why do we wait? anyhow, this has been so good for me.
so here is today’s bundle of goodies and the little note i wrote.
the note says
“back to school kindness project
kindness is difficult to give away, because it keeps coming back. this is for you…
yes you….please enjoy or share it with someone who can.”
“back to school kindness project
kindness is difficult to give away, because it keeps coming back. this is for you…
yes you….please enjoy or share it with someone who can.”
the envelope says “for you…seriously….please open.”
so i headed to superstore today. when i arrived i wasn’t sure what my plan was.
i thought about putting it by the carts and seeing if someone picked it up.
then i saw a mom and daughter heading into the store. the little girls was around 10ish i would guess. really cute. anyhow, i thought maybe i should put it on their car.
but thought, hmmm, maybe i should put it amongst the school supplies in the store.
so there it sat beside the binders on the top shelf in the photo below.
but in about 30 seconds i changed my mind. i picked it up, thinking what if someone finds it and then the very obvious store security guy thinks they are stealing supplies.
that wouldn’t be good.
so i put it in the girls clothing section. and left it there for about 2 minutes.
i know i am sounding very neurotic right about now. sigh.
i went back and picked it up. still worried about the store security.
so i put it back in my cart, picked up my groceries and went thru the check out.
i explained to the checkout lady that it was a gift for a friend.
i had hoped to meet up with in the store. :)
just as i was leaving i saw the little girl and her mom paying for their groceries.
and thought, hmm, i’m going to put it on their car.
but i better hustle. so i zipped out of there, put it on the dash of their car and headed to my car. (no time for a picture)
thankfully, they didn’t see me. they both got in their car and didn’t notice it.
then i saw the little girl open her door and get out and look at it very curiously. she got back in the car, showed it to her mom and then opened it.
i saw a smile on her face when she was outside of the car, but i was unable to see their expressions in the car. it was fun! i urge you to give something like this a try.
bryce was disappointed that he wasn’t in on the drop. so we are going to come up with another plan for right here in our little town.
thanks for letting me share.
