winter at the peaceful place
well, if this doesn't say brrr... perhaps you might get a few chills after you hear what happened to me on the trail today.
so i am out walking the trail in the freezing cold, all bundled up, andy tagging along behind me... just picture him hopping along, because he has one bad back leg...
so anyhow, i happen to look up and omgoodness.... there about a block in front of us....are 3, perhaps more coyotes.. HOLY CRAP!! and one of them looked right at me. freaky, i tell ya... i about wet my pants... so i quietly tell andy to come and we take off running thru the brush, an unbroken area, down the hill to the lower part of the trail.... while i'm running i am fumbling on my blackberry to call home... panting, in all my warm gear... and too scared to look back. omgoodness what an awful feeling!!
so, they didn't follow us, and i'm not sure they saw andy as he was slightly in the brush... i have never been so happy to get back to the edge of town. as i am calling my husband i am thinking, well atleast he will know to come looking for us, if i let him know what's happening. otherwise he may not have noticed we were m.i.a. til his tummy started rumbling...
well that's my story for the night... will i go to the trail tomorrow? hmmmmm... not feeling so good about it, at this moment. i've been walking there for 10+ years... what the heck? gosh darn it....
have a great weekend....
xxo, kim

Hi Kim. I just found your site. I've loved your painting for years now, bought your book, tried a few projects. I work in different mediums but primarily I'm a pencil artist. Wanted to say hi and wonderful photos. I too have a Nikon and cherish it.
Wow, Kim,
I saw the first post, and thought that is so wierd. Looks like something I posted several months ago, until I read the last sentence.LOL
You were wise to be frightened by the coyotes, I belong to a yahoo group and we had lots of comments last week about them. One even told about the coyotes attacking their dog and it was on a leash. So glad you got away safely, and precious Andy too.
That is scary, I do not like coyotes at all.
I have lost two cats to them and they run in packs, but have been raiding neighborhoods looking for easy prey. I don't let my kitties out, but sometimes they escape and it happens, so now I am always yelling when someone opens a door. I love to walk in the woods, but never see coyotes during the day.

hi Debbie
oh i'm so sorry to hear about your cats... that's so sad. a lot of people around here, say they are so much braver now, then they were before. i wonder why that is? they truly scare me!! it was getting close to dark when i was out... like that time of day when in 20 minutes or so, it will be dark. So that could be why i saw them. i'm hoping so. i love walking out there. it's so peaceful. i don't want to give it up. plus andy loves it too! darn it....
take care.... kim
Hi Kim,
I'm happy to know that you're safe...I'm sure you could hear your own heart beat when you ran through the fields to get back home!
Have a wonderful Christmas with your family!
